Many of the center’s studies wouldn’t be possible without the involvement of students and trainees.
Through participation in collaborative lab research, Rice students and Houston Methodist trainees have access to the state-of-the-art facilities and advanced equipment managed by the center. They make meaningful advances in preventing, treating and guiding recovery from musculoskeletal injuries and diseases by utilizing our expertise in the areas of rehabilitation, biomechanics, engineering and kinesiology to:
- Improve long-term recovery outcomes of patients ranging from older adults with chronic disabilities to high-performance athletes.
- Provide clinical support to Rice’s student athletes through campus rehabilitation activities, development of improved assessments, treatment, recovery regimens, and technologies.
- Expand educational opportunities for Rice students and Houston Methodist trainees.
